Why Did I Choose to study at Humber?

This is my first writing assignment for school after a long journey from my country (Vietnam) to Canada - specifically to Humber College. Actually, this is quite an interesting question - "Why did I choose to study at Humber?", for I still keep asking myself this question. However, the only way to unveil is to be into it.

Just few months ago, in Vietnam, I was still wondering which school I should go to study. Indeed, I got a list of suitable schools in Canada for choosing such as George Brown, Centennial, Humber, Seneca... from my agent. I did a bunch of research and found out that Humber College is the best for business study. Moreover, I could do my internship while studying in this school. It is a combination between practice and theory at the same time. That means after graduating, finding a job that is suitable for me is not a big deal. In addition, this is a multicultural school because there are a lot of students from many countries from Middle East, Asia, and Africa to Europe. Therefore, we can exchange many wonderful things from each other such as people, culture and language. Not only is it diverse, but there are also a number of Vietnamese students as well. I meet at least three to four of them every single day. It is really helpful when hearing someone speaking Vietnamese around, for it serves as a fond remembrance of my dear homeland. Last but not least, Humber College is located in Toronto - the most active city in Canada, so I can easily go to work in spare time to gain practical experience.

Truly, that is almost all of the reasons that explains why I finally choose to study at Humber. In this assignment, I really intend to appraise Humber College of how wonder full this school, students, teachers or the landscape is; however, it is worthless if I keep writing it. So I decided to make it as a true review as possible.

As I mentioned above, the only way to know something deeply involves experiencing it yourself. I have been in Humber for ten days. It is enough for a short experience in this school. The first thing that bewildered and made me depressed was the fact that I was put in level 5 (5/8) in EAP (English for Academic Purposes) program. This means that now I have to take time to read sentences instead of books or audio scripts instead of lectures. The only thing that makes the situation less miserable is the kindness of staffs and teachers.

On the other hand, it is really not that bad because the easier lectures are, the more time I can spend to discover the people, school, environment and daily life. For example, I went to visit Colonel Samuel Smith Park yesterday after class. I still remember how surprised I am when coming to this park. I really wish you, the reader, were here to witness this place. Not only because how wonderful is it but also the atmosphere surround the area. You can see a lot of swans that swimming in the iced lake or a bunch of different adorable dogs from Huskies to Miniature Schnauzers. It's so great. Likewise, after finishing your class, you can sit on this bench then and watch either the CN Tower on the other side or lots of birds on this lake.

In any case, Humber is famous by its distinctive traits such as multicultural environment, practical lessons, and wonderful landscape. In conclusion, these are the reasons that I chose to study at Humber.
